Keith Bodley Arena

KWCC is proud to be the only Community Centre in the St James Assiniboia Minor Hockey Association to have it's own indoor arena.  Built in the mid 1980's, this facility has been very well maintained and offers spacious change rooms, ample seating and skate sharpening.

POWER SKATING IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!

Tatiana Rafter will teach a technique model that has evolved beyond Power Skating. We call it Glide Platform Training™.  We have found old, outdated skating patterns are still being taught!  From beginners all the way to elite world-class athletes,  traditional power skating techniques fall short.  In fact, some of the deficiencies are at direct odds with what the fastest skaters of today can achieve!  In their day in the seventies and eighties, these techniques improved everyone tremendously.  By today's standards, power skating techniques are a C+ to a B- at best. What's missing from the techniques actually creates a sub-par acceleration, top speed, and agility ceiling the player can't breakthrough.  The Glide skate keeps you on top of the ice which allows for a much more efficient stride.  Power skating does the complete opposite as it promotes digging into the ice which creates friction.  That will not only make you have to work harder but will slow you down.  Through this technique model and Dynamic Progressions, we show the player how to break the old habits or patterns and establish new solid neuromuscular patterns.  Come join us and see what you've been missing!!
